Here are a few of my favorite things this week:
Favorite pet picture: Mystic is hanging out at Orphan Acres Inc. You can read her story here.
Favorite Book Quote: I found this book after I wrote today’s Daily Energy Update. I haven’t read it, but here is one of the quotes that I found online:
Radical Kindness: The Life-Changing Power of Giving and Receiving by Angela Santomero
Practicing radical kindness means assuming the best of everyone—heart-seeing them—and then acting toward them with compassion, patience, and humility. It means infusing what we think, say, and do throughout the day with warmth, understanding, and care. It means treating everyone—including ourselves!—as important, as if they matter in the world. And yes, that means everyone, whether that person is a family member, friend, stranger, panhandler, someone with opposing political views, or the loudmouth on his cell phone…
Random Favorite: White vinegar.
I have to admit that I am not the primary chef in my home. I rarely even serve as the sous-chef. This week, however, I have made the majority of the meals and, in the process, have over-cooked some things. I’m not talking about the food getting a little blackened. I’m talking about a thick layer of food turning black and getting stuck to the bottom of the pan. It can be REALLY hard to clean. Which is why I’m loving white vinegar this week. I boil a half vinegar and half water solution in the blackened pot, pour it out, and then scrub with some baking soda. All better! It’s also great for cleaning the tub after using real soap. I find that real soap (like Dr. Bronner’s) will leave a layer of…stuff. It’s really challenging to scrub off. But, if you spray it with white vinegar, let it sit for 5 minutes, and then pour boiling water on it, it will wipe away easily!

Question: Are there really ghosts?
Let me start off by saying that I’m not a medium. I don’t talk to dead people and I don’t have much experience with ghosts. Most of what I gather from the afterlife is from what I’ve read that resonates with me. I did have an experience with a soul after death, but I wouldn’t call that a ghost encounter. You can read about it here. So, at this time, here is what I believe about ghosts:
I believe we are all souls who come to Earth to have a human experience. Usually, after that experience is over, we go to the afterlife. But, there are a few reasons a soul might stick around after it separates from its body. It may have some “unfinished business” - perhaps someone is still in danger (like the car that went off the side of the road in which the mother died but the child survived and the mother’s spirit was able to get the attention of a passing car so the child could be saved). Sometimes the spirit is unhappy or confused and needs to work out some “stuff” from the life it just left (and continues to stick around in the house in which it lived and may make itself known every once in a while). Or, maybe the spirit is afraid of what awaits it in the afterlife because of the life it led so it resists moving on. Eventually though they may linger here a bit I believe that all souls eventually choose to move on.
So, no, I don’t think there are ghosts like in GhostBusters. But people may perceive the souls of the recently departed who have yet to leave Earth and call them “ghosts”.

Do you know someone who would benefit from going with the flow rather than fighting the current?
Sales Pitch: My daily energy updates are quick and to the point so you know what to expect and how to deal with it. They don’t include jargon or explanations about this moon position or that planet or the meaning of this number or that belief system. Along with the energy update there is a meditation or activity that can support you and your family as you align with the energy of the day. It’s a whole lot easier to go with the flow than to fight the current!! When you subscribe, you can (usually) expect the daily energy updates in your inbox at 10pm PT the night before. Please keep in mind, the closer you are to California, the more accurate the timing of your update will be. (For example, I sometimes say that the energy will shift in the late morning.) The accompanying meditation/activity will still be beneficial for you and your family no matter how far from California you are.
