Hey Everyone!
Here are a few of my favorite things this week:
Favorite pet picture: Thanks for sharing Purrseus with us, Leonard!
Favorite book quote: Same Soul, Many Bodies: Discover the Healing Power of Future Lives through Progression Therapy by Brian L. Weiss, M.D.
Wars, epidemics, earthquakes, all of nature’s disasters are man’s…some which seem unavoidable are really not. They can be mitigated by our own consciousness, our collective thoughts and intentions. The others, which seem avoidable, only require the will to prevent them.
Note: I love this so much because, if true, it means that when enough people choose to be in the high vibrational frequencies of love, joy, and peace we can prevent many natural disasters, man-made disasters, illnesses, and wars. And, if not true, we’ve got nothing to lose by remaining high-vibe except the hate and fear that we might otherwise experience.
Random favorite: Fire Ceremony - This is a tool that was taught to me by a shaman who did a Soul Retrieval for me. She explains it better than I can, so take a look at her video and try it out!
Question:
There are charts on the internet that list anger as a low vibrational frequency. If the goal is to keep our vibrations high, does that mean anger is bad?
Anger is neither good nor bad. It is an emotion. It is so important to experience our emotions - we need to feel them as they come. If you suppress anger and try not to feel it, one of two things usually happens: it will either erupt (usually at something small done by someone you love very much who has nothing to do with the situation you’re actually angry at, or, at everybody for anything) or you will bury it - which can cause it to turn inward - leading to depression. It is much better to be angry at the thing you are actually angry at in the moment it angers you.
In Chinese Medicine, anger is thought to make the energy rise up. This was illustrated beautifully to me one evening when I was at a meeting in which a panel was voting on something that was very important to me. The vote didn’t go as I’d hoped. I listened as the first voter (who was influential among the rest) spoke words that were so offensive to me and I was so angered that I immediately stood up in the middle of his speech. I had not intended to do that. It just happened. I was so mad that my energy shot up and, before I knew it, I was on my feet. I ended up glaring at his scared face before walking out and listening from the next room.
Anger provides motive force for change. In that moment, there was nothing I could do to change the situation. But the energy was there and I have been working toward change ever since. I am no longer angry at that man, but I’ve used the anger I felt then to motivate positive change.
Another response would be to let anger turn to hate. Hate is contagious and it spreads like a wildfire causing destruction where it touches. Even if the anger and hate seem to be for a noble cause, it is still devastating.
Anger needs to be felt. Then it is our response to anger that we need to be mindful of. Do we let it destroy our lives and the lives of those around us by attempting to suppress it? Do we let it fuel hate? Or do we use it as a motive force for positive change? If our goal is to keep our vibrations high, then the ideal choice is a clear one. However, we are human and that’s not always possible. If you are mindful of when you are suppressing anger or experiencing hate, then you know where you can work to heal yourself. In doing so, you are healing those same energies in the world.
