3 Favs
Favorite Pet Picture: In honor of #NationalPicnicMonth and the book The Stray Dog by Marc Simont, I introduce you to another black and white Willy in need of a home: One Eyed Willy. This handsome guy spent his early life connected to a chain. He’s ready for a foster or fur-ever family that will allow him to be the only dog, give him cuddles and treats, and take him for walks. He is currently being cared for through Repo’s Rescues. If you know his future family, pass this along and introduce them!
Favorite Book Quote: Dying to Be Me: My Journey from Cancer, to Near Death, to True Healing by Anita Moorjani
“I'm at my strongest when I'm able to let go, when I suspend my beliefs as well as disbeliefs, and leave myself open to all possibilities. That also seems to be when I'm able to experience the most internal clarity and synchronicities.”
Random Favorite: Seeing the wisdom of nature.
Did you know that grass goes dormant? I did not know that until I moved to a place that has real seasons this last year! It goes to sleep in the winter, wakes back up in the spring, and really grows in the summer and autumn. But, it’s been unusually hot and dry for the last several weeks and the grass has gone dormant again. We haven’t needed to mow the lawn because it’s just not growing. It amazes me that grass knows to rest when the conditions are not ideal for growth AND that it’ll wake back up again when the time is right. I have so much to learn from nature.
What were some of your favorite things this week?
& a Q
This question was originally posted on November 12, 2020.
Question: Is an over-developed need for control a bad thing?
I wouldn’t say that it’s innately good or bad. It’s more of a symptom of deep insecurity. It’s a lack of faith in one’s self that becomes a lack of faith in a higher power and the outer world. Rather than being bad, I’d say it’s very “uncomfortable”. But the process of learning is uncomfortable, so embrace it and learn from it.
If you’re subscribed and you got today’s newsletter, there was a bit about letting go and trusting. But if you have an over-developed need for control, the next question would be “how do I learn to trust”?
I meditated on that, and here’s what I’ve come up with:
You can only learn to trust when you stop seeing yourself as alone. You are not. You are one - with God, the Holy Spirit, the Universe, and all of Creation. Whatever words you want to use, it is all the same thing and you are a part of it. You also must remember that you came here to learn certain lessons. It is easier to trust when you see those hardships as gifts to you for your benefit. Is it easy? No. If you wanted easy, you would have stayed in Heaven. You’re here to grow and learn. You’re here to expand and contribute love. When you’re trying to control everything, you contract and you can not let your light shine. Focus out. Focus on giving without worrying what you look like. Focus on receiving with grace. Focus on feeling the discomfort and experiencing gratitude for it. When you do that, you’ll focus less on control and more on being the person you came here to be. Trust will flow from that.

Unfortunately, many of those blessed cat allergies also fall in love with the people who can't live without their feline companion(s). This stone elixir is for anyone with a sensitivity to cats who spends time with someone who loves cats.
Ingredients:
Purified blue solar water with Ho'oponopono energy, the vibrations of the listed stones, intention, ritual, and love.
