Favorite Pet Picture: In honor of #NationalPinkDay (did you know that pink was historically a boy color?), allow me to introduce you to Pinkie Pie! (OK, #NationalPinkDay was a few days ago, but I still want to introduce you to this cute girl!) She is young and loves other dogs. She’s still learning her manners, to trust people, and to “go potty outside”. Pinkie Pie is currently being cared for through Soul Dog Rescue. If you know her fur-ever home, pass this along and introduce them!
Favorite Book Quote: Journey Of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives by Michael Newton
“During our lives all of us will experience opportunities for change which involve risk. These occasions may come at inconvenient times. We may not act upon them, but the challenge is there for us. The purpose of reincarnation is the exercise of free will. Without this ability, we would be impotent creatures indeed.”
Random Favorite: Guidance from Loved Ones
I was struggling a bit this morning so my husband suggested I talk to my dad. I got a coffee and a donut (his favorite kind), sat in my truck alone, and talked. And cried. I asked what to do. I was told to take one step at a time. Unlike a master chess player, I only saw three steps ahead: Go to the coffee shop, eat breakfast, and open my computer. I didn’t know what I was going to do after that, and I was feeling a bit lost, but I had faith. I took my three steps - one at a time. Then, the moment I opened my computer, my next step was apparent to me. It was something I couldn’t have guessed was coming. It was an answer to to the questions I’ve been asking for the last couple days. Years, really. I’m still feeling sad today, but not as lost. Thanks Dad.
P.S. Remember that, as much as they sometime suck, it’s OK to feel feelings.

& a Q
Question: Should abortion be allowed?
I believe the issue of abortion is a conversation between a mother and a baby - not politicians. I wish that everyone only ever made conscious decisions and took loving actions. Our world would would be very different if that was the case. Unfortunately, we don’t. None of us do all the time.
We are imperfect. Sometimes we’re living in survival-mode and doing the best we can in the moment. Sometimes, we choose not to be loving. Sometimes people forget their Light and live their Darkness. That is how life is because our greatest gift is Free Will.
I know there is more to the agreements between a mother and her baby than we can consciously understand. This is a spiritual question, not a logical one. While I would never want a mother to lose her child in any way (by choice or otherwise), and I would do anything within my power to support a woman in coming to conscious decisions around motherhood, I believe that abortion should be an available option.
Here is an article I wrote a few years back:
TO THE WOMAN WHO HAD THE ABORTION
7/19/2017
Dear Sister In Loss,
You were seeking help for continuous bleeding after your abortion. You called my friend to get an appointment, but she had no room in her schedule that week so she called me. I’d just reopened my practice after the loss of my own newborn and had some room in my schedule. My friend asked if I could work with you.
I had to think long and hard about that.
Could I express compassion and love for someone who chose to have an abortion when my own unexpected loss was still so new? I knew I couldn’t take you on as a patient if there was any hint of judgement in my being. I would have to forgive you, and all the other women who had made the same choice, before I could have the compassion necessary to sit across from you, listen to your needs, and support you in your healing.
And I did.
We met a day later. I loved you as I listened to your story. It was not the right time. That’s all.
The only thing I wasn’t prepared for was your lack of emotion. I assumed it would have been a hard decision with a complicated emotional response. I was a bit confused when you nonchalantly said you were OK. But I was thankful that you felt you did what was best and that you had the support of your family.
The only reason I was able to work with you was that I remembered the story of another woman. I don’t know where I read this story, or even if I’m remembering it correctly, but it was enough help me let go of judgement and be with you.
Another woman’s story: This woman was young when she had her abortion and it haunted her. Years later she married and had another child. One day, as she was cleaning her bathtub, her four year old came into the bathroom and said:
“Mommy, I forgive you.”
“Forgive me for what?”
“I forgive you for when I was in your tummy before. But it’s OK, Mommy, because I came back.”
If that beautiful soul can not only forgive her mommy for aborting her once, but love her enough to come back, then who am I to hate?
I hope that you were telling me the truth when you said that you were feeling OK and supported. Loss is a strange thing, even when the loss is a chosen one, and I hope you always feel good in your heart about your decision.
I wish you a happy family when the time is right.
Sincerely,
Karen

I’ve finally got my website up! Each week, I’ll feature a product or service. This week, I’m featuring Stone Sessions!
Do you have problems with:
excessive scrolling on social media?
mindless eating?
always needing to be perfect - do more - accumulate degrees or other “success”?
being uncomfortable being alone?
needing to always be on the move?
having too much stuff?
having poor boundaries?
Stones, like plants (like the ones used in herbal formulas), have an amazing ability to support the body, mind, and spirit. Stones and plants just work on a different level. Herbs are great for healing physical issues. For example, mint tea can make a sore throat feel so much better! Stones work on the energetic level, so they’re great for the issues listed above, and so much more!
A stone session will allow you to talk through the issue you’d like to address and then you’ll get personalized gemstone recommendations, descriptions of how to use the stones, and meditations to go along with the stones.
Be a part of it all!
