Favorite pet picture: Mina is an “endearing granny princess”! Despite her persona, this little girl is quite and mellow. She needs special care, since she is deaf and has limited vision, but she enjoys the car, being carried, and being with other dogs. She is currently being cared for by HELP. If you know her forever family, pass this along and introduce them!
Favorite book quote: Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives by Brian L. Weiss, M.D.
We are frightfully concerned with our own deaths, sometimes so much so that we forget the real purpose of our lives…
Random favorite: The beach - It’s been a bit cold so we haven’t been to the beach in a few weeks. My family bundled up and finally went again last weekend. The connection to the earth as I step on the sand, the fresh air, the sun on my skin, the meditative sound of the waves, and the joy of my family as we enjoy all of this together, are the most powerful medicine I know.
What are some of your favorite things this week?
Question: How do I center myself for uncertain times?
If I were to answer with the first thing that came to my head, this is what you would get:
First, let’s remember that nothing is certain. So, perhaps you could go through uncertainty with the same amount of certainty you possess on a regular day.
But maybe that’s not the most helpful answer.
If someone told me that, I would probably get mad (and my husband would probably laugh at me). So, I’ll do a bit of meditation to see what I come up with.
Know that you are made for uncertain times. If you are here, on this Earth right now, it is because you can handle uncertainty. Center yourself with the knowledge that you are guided. You have God-given wisdom within you. Tap into that wisdom and your guidance; then all you have to do is step out in faith. One step at a time is all it takes. If you try to plan the whole journey, you’ll get lost. Just because it looks good on the map doesn’t mean it’s where you’re meant to be. Trust your heart. Lead where it follows. If you experience fear, keep breathing. There can be no courage without fear. You have all the courage you’ll ever need within you. After that, just try to have fun. Laugh. If you don’t know what to do next, laugh. Fear can cloud your wisdom but laughter can break through the fear and allow you to hear your heart.
So, basically, to center yourself for uncertain times: breath, laugh, and take it one step at a time. You already have everything else you need.
Best wishes to you as you move through uncertainty!
