I’m finding this guy, and his work, fascinating. I first found him when I was doing research for a previous 3 Favs & a Q. I didn’t pay him much attention until I found his book earlier this week. I haven’t read it yet, but this is what I’ve gathered from the portions of interviews I’ve watched: he thinks that most people are too insulated and don’t experience the correct kind of stress to keep the body and immune system functioning properly. He has a breathing technique that focuses on breathing in and out and then holding the breath for a period of time. He also does a lot of work in the cold. His story and experiences are fascinating and his science is so much fun to listen to. He has one story about an experiment he did in which people were injected with E. coli after doing his breathing technique. When they should have had a very severe fever and been feeling beyond horrible, most were joking that they must have gotten the placebo - nobody got sick. The idea is so intriguing. What happened? Was the body so strong that it “fought” off the bacteria without the bacteria even putting up a fight? Or, as I suspect, was the body somehow able to integrate the bacteria into the system in a harmless way? Our bodies are full of bacteria and viruses that have become beneficial to our systems. What if something that we deem a threat could actually live in harmony with our system? What if shifting the way our bodies respond to stress could allow that to happen? It would make the current world look a lot different, wouldn’t it?

Question: You suggested we listen to Solfeggio frequencies last Tuesday. Are Solfeggio frequencies for real? Could they be harmful?
Here’s the deal. There’s a lot of “debunking” of Solfeggio Frequencies online. There’s also an abundance of Youtube videos playing the frequencies and blogs claiming that they to do this and heal that. Here’s what I know: Things seem a little more relaxed around my house when I play them. If that’s all they do, I’m in! If they actually do the miraculous stuff that believers say, BONUS!
In many cultures, including Christianity and Chinese medicine, music and sound is used for healing and spiritual growth. It is possible that these frequencies do fall into this category.
I haven’t had the opportunity to utilize all of them for their specific purposes, but I have been using the 396 Hz Sofeggio frequency with singing bowls. It is supposed to be for clearing guilt and achieving goals. One of my challenges is that I’m often awake for hours in the morning doing “mom stuff”. So, by the time I get to the kitchen to make a hot breakfast, I’m usually running on empty and I just need to eat. While guilt is not one of my primary conscious emotions, I do find the music helps me stay focused on my goal of being able to eat without the overwhelm or frustration I normally feel when I’m attempting to make breakfast long after I should have digested it. Plus, the rest of the household is more relaxed as well!
I’m pretty big believer in how the high vibrations that we put out into the world, just by experiencing love, joy, and peace, powerfully affect the environment and larger community. If that’s the case, and if these frequencies are in alignment with those vibrations, just having them on in the background could be beneficial for the whole area.
Could they be harmful? If the sounds stress you out, then it’s definitely not beneficial. I found one recording of singing bowls that was so grating I had to turn it off. But if it makes you feel good, then I’d say it’s good. Your body, mind, and spirit have a way of telling you if something is good for you or not. What is good for one person might not be right for another. So listen to the wisdom within you and let that guide your decision.
