Favorite Pet Picture: In honor of National Caffeine Awareness Month, I introduce you to a different kind of pick-me-up: Coffee. This old girl’s shenanigans have made her loved and remembered by shelter staff for years. She has had multiple home and she recently came back to the shelter on her own a bit older and a bit chunkier. She promises to “bring you SO MUCH JOY”! She needs a soft place to land for the rest of her life. Currently she is being cared for through Tallahassee Animal Services. If you know her fur-ever family, pass this along and introduce them!
Favorite Book Quote: Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives by Brian L. Weiss
“On another night, in a different dream I was asking a question. “How is it that you say all are equal, yet the obvious contradictions smack us in the face: inequalities in virtues, temperances, finances, rights, abilities and talents, intelligence, mathematical aptitude, ad infinitum?” The answer was a metaphor. “It is as if a large diamond were to be found inside each person. Picture a diamond a foot long. The diamond has a thousand facets, but the facets are covered with dirt and tar. It is the job of the soul to clean each facet until the surface is brilliant and can reflect a rainbow of colors. “Now, some have cleaned many facets and gleam brightly. Others have only managed to clean a few; they do not sparkle so. Yet, underneath the dirt, each person possesses within his or her breast a brilliant diamond with a thousand gleaming facets. The diamond is perfect, not one flaw. The only differences among people are the number of facets cleaned. But each diamond is the same, and each is perfect. “When all the facets are cleaned and shining forth in a spectrum of lights, the diamond returns to the pure energy that it was originally. The lights remain. It is as if the process that goes into making the diamond is reversed, all that pressure released. The pure energy exists in the rainbow of lights, and the lights possess consciousness and knowledge. “And all of the diamonds are perfect.”
Random Favorite: Friendly Neighbors & Loving Community
We have a “garbage can fairy” - a neighbor covertly brings in our garbage cans quite often. I had a neighbor text to make sure I was OK (and she checked that I knew what to do) during a pretty bad storm. My family has had the opportunity to drop off treats at the neighbors’ houses on holidays. I also know that if I were ever in need, I could contact several of my husbands’ coworkers and they would take charge and make sure my family was safe and cared for. I love being in community! The way everyone shows their love is different and beautiful!
& a Q
I had another question lined up for this week, but with the wild fires, tornados, earthquakes, and conflicts that are making the news, I felt this previous question was a great example of how we contribute to the energy and what we can do now.
(First published: 3 Favs & a Q - Jan. 12, 2021)
Question: There was an earthquake in Los Angeles during the US Presidential Inauguration Ceremony. What was that about?
“Wars, epidemics, earthquakes, all of nature’s disasters are man’s…some which seem unavoidable are really not. They can be mitigated by our own consciousness, our collective thoughts and intentions. The others, which seem avoidable, only require the will to prevent them.” - Same Soul, Many Bodies: Discover the Healing Power of Future Lives through Progression Therapy by Brian L. Weiss, M.D.
I’ve shared my thoughts on this quote previously. So how does that relate to an earthquake occurring during a major political event?
I believe that the energy we put out affects the world around us. I believe that many of the earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, fires, and other natural disasters are related to the vibration of our collective consciousness.
There was SO much energy during the inauguration. Change is usually accompanied by uncertainty (even when the change is good) and, if we’re unconscious about it, uncertainty can lead to fear. Also, from what I could see, the people who were most happy about the change were also concurrently expressing the most hate about the previous administration. Then there were the people who were just unhappy about what was happening…and those who felt like they’d been wronged.
Peace was not one of the primary energies during that time.
The Earth feels the tension, fear, and hate. She relieved the her own tension by shifting.
So, after the earthquake, I gathered my family and we did a mix of Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s meditations in which we sent love and peace to the Earth, all the people in our area, and all throughout the world. Then we sent love and wisdom to our leaders and all the leaders throughout the world.
Do I think it made a difference?
Yes. I absolutely do.
Why?
Because just a little bit of higher vibrational energy (like love, peace, joy, compassion, and gratitude) are SO much stronger than a lot of lower vibrational energy (like shame, guilt, fear, and hate). And I think they’re also more contagious. The love and peace I send out resonates with the love and peace others have within themselves and provides them the invitation to express that as well.
I also think Mother Earth is highly receptive. She is just like any mom who can do thankless tasks all day long while the one for whom she performs the loving tasks is often fighting her. But, then that mom receives a smile from her child and it’s all worth it. That’s what the love we send the Earth is like. A little goes a long way.
So, yes, I think the earthquake and the inauguration were related. I believe it was a request and a reminder to be more conscious of our energy and to choose to live in those higher vibrational frequencies as often as we can - especially in times of fear and hate.

Stones, like plants (like the ones used in herbal formulas), have an amazing ability to support the body, mind, and spirit. Stones and plants just work on a different level. Herbs are great for healing physical issues. For example, mint tea can make a sore throat feel so much better! Stones work on the energetic level, so they’re great for the issues listed above, and so much more!
A stone session will allow you to talk through the issue you’d like to address and then you’ll get personalized gemstone recommendations, descriptions of how to use the stones, and meditations to go along with the stones.
Be a part of it all!
