Favorite Pet Picture: In honor of National High Five Day and Dusty Baker’s untelevised celebration of his 1977 home run - I introduce you to a different Dusty. This girl is a “velcro” dog and always want sot be close to her person. She loves people and other dogs and would feel at home in an active house where she has a playmate. She is currently being fostered through Casa de Love Animal Rescue. If you know her fur-ever family, pass this along and introduce them!
Favorite Book Quote: Soul Retrieval: Mending the Fragmented Self by Sandra Ingerman
“The earth will support anything that supports life. What I have found after a soul retrieval is that one cannot "numb out" anymore. Each and every one of us must make personal and planetary decisions to stop abusing life. Whether a person a has to give up an abusive relationship, take a more active political role, or increase awareness of how we continue to abuse our environment, we all now have to be responsible. Being responsible means responding to what is needed. We find a need to wake up and change our reality to a stance of power...”
Random Favorite: Feeling Younger
I’ve been feeling a little achier, a little slower, a little less fluid…and a little more “old”. It’s funny how little it takes to feel younger. Just playing outdoors with my family - running around and doing some intentional exercises - really makes me feel so much better! I don’t believe in the body hurting because it’s getting old. I believe that as we age, the body just requires a little more care to keep it moving well. Perhaps it’s less about age and more that we forget to play that causes us feel old.

& a Q
Question: What is a “Mandatory Rest Time”? Am I actually supposed to take a nap during those specified hours?! What if I’m at work?
The Daily Energy Updates are created through a combination of astrology and numerology. A Mandatory Rest Time is a time when the moon is void-of-course, meaning that it’s not in a particular sign.
The thing that I find most important about this, and the reason I started including it in the readings, is that it’s almost like the moon is taking a rest and it’s nature’s way of reminding us to take a rest as well. Our bodies are designed to flow with nature.
Of course, some people don’t follow the exact same biorhythms. This is why I work with people to find their own natural rhythm. For example, I believe night owls were the protectors of the early birds - they watched out for each other as they slept. Womens’ cycles follow the moon, but are not always the same. The women that had opposite cycles of the majority were generally the healers and midwives. But let’s get back to the topic at hand.
So, I believe there is wisdom to following the cycles that nature provides. Internalizing your energy while the moon is resting sounds like a good idea to me. But, if that’s not your thing, I also heard about some research (which I can’t confirm). It went something like this: A group of businesses were analyzed according to when they started. The majority that started during a void-of-course moon period (a Mandatory Rest Time) failed right away. The majority that started at a time other than a void-of-course moon period did not fail.
Some astrologers don’t really put any importance on when the Moon is void-of-course. I tend to place an emphasis on it as a reminder to slow down.
However, there may be more to it than that. There is a story about former President Ronald Reagan (which I also can’t confirm): Nancy Reagan trusted astrology and shared that information with her husband. They actually had an astrologer on staff to help schedule things. So, if he had good news that he wanted people to remember, he always shared it when the Moon was NOT void-of-course. But, if he had bad news that he wanted everyone to ignore, he shared it during times when the Moon WAS void-of-course (so, he shared bad news during the “Mandatory Rest Times”). Thus, they referred to him as the “Teflon President” - bad stuff slid right off him and he was acknowledged for the good.
Good activities for your “Mandatory Rest Times” would be things that are more internal and mundane. Resting would be perfect, but you can also get the stuff done that you always put off (like clearing out your emails if you’re at work). You might also want to try a relaxing type of yoga. Meditation is an especially good choice during this time. Do something creative, make some plans, or let go of things that you no longer need.
Some activities you could probably plan for a different time are doctor’s appointments, meetings, sending in resumes, starting businesses, investing, signing contracts, or going out on a first date (unless, of course, you want the contract, or relationship, or whatever to fall through).
Again, do I know how true any of this is? No.
Should you become superstitious about this? No.
Might it be a good idea to pay attention to how this energy affects your life? Sure!
Would it benefit you to be conscious about taking extra opportunities to slow down several times per week! For most of us, the answer is yes.
So, do what you will with the information. But, that’s where “Mandatory Rest Times” come from!

This is for the protectors of our country, our first responders, and those in science who have no one to talk to.
You can't talk to a shrink because...your people just don't do that sort of thing.
You can't talk to your people because they would give you so much $hit (or blacklist you).
This is for the person who heard a voice that said "Move!" and then the bomb exploded right where you were.
This is for the person who was “pulled” through the fire to the exact location the child was hiding.
This is for the person who has experienced something that science can't explain.
This is an opportunity to tell your story.
This is a spiritual and energetic consulting session NOT a medical or psychological appointment so, while I do have morals and integrity and your information will NOT be shared, I have no obligation to write anything down. Nothing goes into your personal medical record.
This spiritual and energetic consultation will consist of a 45-minute phone call where you can share your story and work through what happened without judgement and without being worried if it will come back to bite you in the @ss later.
