Favorite Pet Picture: In honor of National #PlayDayWithDad Day, meet Grandaddy. He’s not much for playing. He’d rather sit in the sun, get some lovin’ when its offered, and “just like your grandad, he'd love to have a visitor come sit a spell with him”. He was adopted in April and then came back to the shelter after being found abandoned again in August. He’s currently being cared for through Cornelius Animal Shelter. If you know Grandaddy’s fur-ever family, pass this along and introduce them.
Favorite Book Quote: The Bible (2 Timothy 1:7) New King James Version
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Random Favorite: Food prepared by multiple generations.
My family was in the kitchen cooking together this week. I believe that Love makes food taste better. Our food tasted amazing as a result of people spending time together!

& a Q
Question: Is it more important to focus on spiritual growth or physical health?
This question was first answered on December 23, 2021.
This is a time when most people are highly focused on the physical. We are being told to get medical procedures and take physical precautions to keep us safe. Many of the “solutions” are actually detrimental to our physical being or create a large amount of fear or anger which is challenging for our spiritual selves.
We need to stop and realize that we are both a physical being and a spiritual being. You will have your spirit for all eternity, but you have chosen your body for a specific (and important) purpose for this lifetime. Symptoms of spiritual taxation often show up as physical symptoms, if not addressed, while physical weakness can begin to tax your emotions and spirit.
It is time to focus on honoring and nurturing both aspects of ourselves. Here are some ways to care for your whole self:
Step on Earth, breathe Air, feel the Sun, and drink Water. When you are in a space of fear, you get stuck in your head rather than inhabiting your body. By focusing on doing each of these things every day, you will reconnect with your physical yourself.
Notice Fear. Fear is a strong indicator that you are not experiencing Love. It shows you where you have healing to do. Allow yourself to feel the fear without resistance. Then address the fear. Do your healing work so you can re-enter a space of Love.
Honor Others’ Choices. If you experience negativity as a result of someone else’s actions it is because you have a need to control someone else. The only one you can control is you - though you can impact others positively or negatively by your energy. Choose to make a positive impact. Even if you don’t agree with someone, do your best to love the situation, love their choice, and love them.
Care for Your Body. When you move, your energy moves, your emotions feel lighter, and your spirit lightens. Also, getting enough sleep, eating nourishing foods, and keeping your environment as clear as possible make staying in the high vibrations of love, peace, and joy easier.
Choose Love. It is the most simple and yet hardest thing to do. Sometimes you may need time to heal or reset. But try to notice when you’re out of the space of Love as quickly as possible and move back into Love as often as you need to.
Simply said, if you’re in your head, get back in your body by connecting with the nourishment Earth provides. If you’re in fear, reconnect with Love. By doing so, you will honor both your physical nature and your spiritual self.
