3 Favs
Favorite Pet Picture: In honor of #NationalWomenPhysiciansDay (U.S.) and one of my childhood heros, Elizabeth Blackwell, I introduce to you: Mackenzie Elizabeth (AKA Kenzie). Check out her other cute photos - especially the one with bubbles! She recently got diagnosed with some medical issues, but she’s feeling all better now and Paw It 4ward will continue to cover all of her medical costs after adoption! Kenzie loves chasing the football and basking in the sun. She’s also a bit awkward and has fears that may seem a bit silly, so she’ll be happiest if she has a little place of her own to feel safe. If you know Mackenzie Elizabeth’s fur-ever family, pass this along and introduce them!
Favorite Book Quote: The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching: Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy, and Liberation by Thich Nhat Hanh
“Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything - anger, anxiety, or possessions - we cannot be free.”
Random Favorite: Happy Belly Critters
It seems a stomach bug is going around in our town. I wouldn’t have known it except that I’ve seen multiple people “loose their lunch” in public recently. I’m not a religious supplement-taker. But, that’s when I got serious about the probiotics. I did get some in pill form, but I’ve also been drinking quite a bit of kombucha and adding a few bites of kimchi to most meals. A great way to boost the immune system is to make sure your little belly critters are happy - and that’s what I intend to do! Why? Because happy belly critters are so much better than the ones that end up all over the floor. (Insert green-faced emoji.)

& a Q
Question: I have Shingles; now what?
Disclaimer: This is not medical, financial, or legal advice - if you need that, please go see the proper professional.
I have been hearing of a lot of people experiencing shingles lately. I can not give you medical advice, but I can tell you what I did when I got them right before Christmas back when I was a new mom. It feels like it was a lifetime ago! This is from a blog I posted back then:

I’ve finally got my website up! Each week, I’ll feature a product or service. This week, I’m featuring RESET!
I don’t know about you, but my thinking gets a little (OK, a lot) fuzzy after looking at a screen for a bit. When I’m in that state, its much easier to grab my phone and scroll than attend to real life. So, when I’ve been working on my computer and I’m having a hard time reintegrating into physical reality (or screen use is feeling a little obsessive or addictive), I use RESET. Want more info?
