Favorite Pet Picture: In honor of September being #ClassicalMusicMonth, allow me to introduce you to Wolfgang (because Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a classical composer). Anyway, this big guy loves people and is looking for a home that he can be in the presence of his favorite person all day long (otherwise he’ll sing about his loneliness). He is also looking for someone who wants to play ‘til he drops. While he loves hanging with people, he probably shouldn’t be with smaller animals. Wolfgang is currently being cared for through the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc. If you know his fur-ever family, click that “Share” button and introduce them!
Favorite Book Quote: Trust Your Vibes by Sonia Choquette
Amazing things happen when you get enough sleep, eat properly, and take it easy. Your nerve endings relax, and your spirit, or the six-sensory part of you, rejuvenates and begins to shine light on your path..
Random Favorite: Unplanned Dates
Today I took a walk to the park with a special person in my life, just because I was asked. I dropped everything and went. It was a special time that allowed us to reconnect in a way that we truly needed.
What were some of your favorite things this week?
& a Q
Question: I’m trying to get some work done and all I want to do is drink something with caffeine and a lot of sugar and watch YouTube. I’m just not focused enough to meditate and I don’t feel like exercising. I’m feeling unmotivated and kind of down. How do I get out of this funk so I can get some stuff done?
I can totally relate!
If this is always happening, then you might need a more specific strategy to handle energy, mood, and diet. If you want a personalized strategy, contact me by email and I can help you with that. (“Share” this message if you know someone who needs it.)
But, if you are usually motivated and focused, then perhaps you actually need a break. It sounds like your brain and body are asking for junk-food because you’ve been working hard. Perhaps you could take some time to indulge? Get your favorite drink and give yourself a little bit of screen-time. Give yourself permission to truly enjoy them. Then, after a little bit, ask yourself how you’re feeling. If you need to rest - do it. If you’re feeling bored with your videos then it’s time: get a drink of water, take a deep breath, shake your body out, and get back to work!
(A little support for this strategy from neuroscience: our brain keeps working through problems even when we’ve set them aside to play a game, so you might find that solutions are easier to come by after your break.)
Be a part of it all!
