Mutt Mutt & Why do I feel like I have PTSD if nothing bad ever happened to me?
3 Favs & a Q - Dec. 2, 2021
A quick note: Sharing, liking, and commenting help me a lot. If you really liked what you read, you thought of something to say, or you know someone who would really benefit from these words, please take a moment to act on what came to you. Thank you so much!
3 Favs
Favorite Pet Picture: In honor of #NationalMuttDay allow me to introduce you to Mutt Mutt. She was saved from an abusive situation and then abandoned at Paw Parent where she is now receiving care. She needs a lot of love and patience before she is willing to trust. Currently, she is very fearful of strangers. But once she opens up, she is sweet, affectionate, and playful. Bonus: She’s potty trained and knows how to use the doggie door! If you know of the adult-only home who has been waiting for Mutt Mutt, pass this along and introduce them! Also, it was hard to decide which picture to feature so you can go to her profile and take a peek at her other pics.
Favorite Book Quote: Same Soul, Many Bodies: Discover the Healing Power of Future Lives through Progression Therapy by Brian L. Weiss, M.D.
Wars, epidemics, earthquakes, all of nature’s disasters are man’s…some which seem unavoidable are really not. They can be mitigated by our own consciousness, our collective thoughts and intentions. The others, which seem avoidable, only require the will to prevent them.
Note: I love quote so much! I’ve talked about its implications here and a real-life example here.
Random Favorite: Autumn Leaves
I may have already written about the leaves changing in a previous newsletter, but It’s just so amazing! To be present with their beauty is so healing for me. I’ve taken so many pictures of the trees and their leaves. I’ve got one video of the trees blowing in the wind on my Instagram page. Comment if you want to see more pictures!
What were some of your favorite things this week?
& a Q
Question: Why do I feel like I have PTSD if nothing bad ever happened to me?
Disclaimer: This is not medical, financial, or legal advice. If you need that, please contact the appropriate professional.
PTSD stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This is a response to trauma that causes lots of horrible symptoms, but they’re all basically the opposite of being able to grow and move forward. There is also a thing called Post Traumatic Stress Growth which is the ability to grow from the stress you experience. I believe there are several types of trauma and we can carry PTSD or PTSG within our systems from each of these types of trauma.
Life Trauma
This is the physical and emotional trauma that you experience in this lifetime. This is the type of trauma that most doctors and psychologists focus on. You usually know the trauma you experienced (though it can sometimes be suppressed so you don’t remember it).
Womb Trauma
You were an egg in your mother’s womb when she was in her mother’s womb. The chemical environment of the womb is altered when there is stress which means that you (as a little egg) were exposed to stress responses in the womb. If your grandmother experienced trauma when she was pregnant with your mom or if your mom experienced trauma when she was pregnant with you (or any trauma throughout her whole life because you were an egg in her belly since before she was born) you were exposed to that trauma as well. (I suppose this also includes any trauma your father experienced when you, as a piece of genetic material, were present in his body.) Some small children can remember and describe this trauma but most of us are completely unaware of it.
Environmental Trauma
We can pick up on the traumas of the land - traumas that occurred in a particular place. We can also pick up on the traumas that are currently occurring in our environment, our culture, and the people around us (and throughout Earth).
Past-Life Trauma
This is trauma that your soul experienced in another lifetime. (Christians, before you decide I’m crazy, remember, the idea of reincarnation is in the Bible!) Some people have aversions to things that may have killed or hurt them in another life. So, you may not know why you’re afraid of the water, having something around your neck, or sharing your gifts, but it could have something to do with trauma you experienced in another life.
Ancestral Trauma
This is the trauma that has been carried down in our bloodlines and our genes. I separate this from Womb Trauma because, while it’s probably the same, it encompasses more than just the trauma that is experienced when a little piece of you is present. It is the trauma that is passed down through both sides of your bloodline from generations and generations past.
So, you may be experiencing PTSD that is not yours. It could be from your grandfather who was a prisoner of war during WWII. Or maybe it is from your great-great-great-grandmother who was accused of being a witch because she knew how to use nature to heal or she spoke her mind. Or perhaps its because you had a bad experience when you were on Earth previously and you’re here to heal that wound this time around.
The beautiful thing is, when we focus on more than just Lifetime Trauma, and we begin healing these other types of traumas too, we can heal more than just ourselves. We can heal the land, our family, our past and future generations, and so much more!
I’ll go into modalities that can be used to address each type of trauma in future newsletters. Stay tuned!

I’ve finally got my website up! Each week, I’ll feature a product or service. This week, I’m featuring Stone Sessions!
Do you have problems with:
excessive scrolling on social media?
mindless eating?
always needing to be perfect - do more - accumulate degrees or other “success”?
being uncomfortable being alone?
needing to always be on the move?
having too much stuff?
having poor boundaries?
Stones, like plants (like the ones used in herbal formulas), have an amazing ability to support the body, mind, and spirit. Stones and plants just work on a different level. Herbs are great for healing physical issues. For example, mint tea can make a sore throat feel so much better! Stones work on the energetic level, so they’re great for the issues listed above, and so much more!
A stone session will allow you to talk through the issue you’d like to address and then you’ll get personalized gemstone recommendations, descriptions of how to use the stones, and meditations to go along with the stones.
Be a part of it all!
